Shame |
Ezra 9
5 Then, at the evening sacrifice, I rose from my self-abasement,
with my tunic and cloak torn, and fell on my knees with my hands spread out to
the LORD my God 6 and prayed: "O my God, I am too ashamed and
disgraced to lift up my face to you, my God, because our sins are higher than
our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.
Isaiah 53
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for
our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his
wounds we are healed.
Romans 9
33As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men
to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will
never be put to shame."
Isaiah 54
4 "Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame. Do not fear
disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth
and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. 5 For your Maker
is your husband-the LORD Almighty is his name-the Holy One of Israel is your
Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.
Psalm 25
2 in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor
let my enemies triumph over me. 3 No one whose hope is in you will
ever be put to shame, but they will be put to shame who are treacherous without
excuse.
Romans 10
11As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be
put to shame.
