        John was one of the original instructor trainers selected by the state in 1996, when the Carry Concealed Weapons Act was passed.  John is a retired Kentucky State Police Officer with 25 years of service.  During that time, he served as the State Police Firearms Officer, Commander of the Special Response Teams, Assistant Commander of the Kentucky State Police Academy and Commander of the Executive Security Detail.  He has instructed hundreds of police officers in the use of firearms and officer survival, both here in Kentucky and in departments across the Nation.
